Care for belly button piercings : As a general rule of thumb - try to keep the area clean and allow the body to heal around the piercing. Wash the area twice daily (and after exercise) with antibacterial soap or salt water rinses - rinse off all crusty formations and soap with clean water. Avoid using alcohol based products, peroxide or betadine - it stains belly rings. Body fluids like saliva, sweat tend to irritate the area so avoid contacting pierced area with them. Don't finger belly rings excessively till after the healing process is complete. Always wear clean clothing.
